Description

AnarkoArtLab, by Adrians Black and Tasha Mrzljak

AnarkoArtLab marks twenty years of artistic and political experimentation through performance, collective action, public intervention, transmedia practice, and independent publishing.

The project began in the experimental environment around Judson Church in New York City and expanded through encounters with The Living Theatre, The Theatre of the Oppressed, and ancestral forms of knowledge and transmission. Over two decades, AnarkoArtLab has brought together artists, performers, activists, and participants in a practice that moves between art and collective life, continually transforming through the people, places, and political realities that enter it.

The book traces this trajectory through photographs, documents, interviews, essays, and performance records, bringing twenty years of actions, collaborations, and artistic research into a single publication.

Artist Bios –

Adrians Black is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist based in New York whose practice moves across performance, experimental video, photography, drawing, sound and digital installation, site-specific and public art. They are the founder of AnarkoArtLab and the author of TRANS and AnarkoArtLab.

She holds a PhD in Visual Arts at UNICAMP and Sorbonne Paris, and completed postdoctoral research at Freie Universität Berlin.
