Hans Koning is a Durch-born American novelist, and among his best-known books are The Affair, A Walk with Love and Death (filmed by John Huston), The PetersburgCannes Express, The Revolutionary, Acts of Faith, The Kleber Flight, and, most recently, Pursuit of a Woman on the Hinge of History. His forthcoming novel (due in the year 2000) is Zeeland, or Elective Concurrences. This small booklet of anecdotes and aphorisms is his introduction to the new millennium.
